Welcome to Legally Blaque, a new blog that covers all things lifestyle, lipstick, and law school! My name is Lindsay, and I'm currently 23 years old. A few of you may know me from my old blog, Southern Belle Stylista, and a few of you may be new to the party (welcome!).

Here are 20 things that you probably don't know about me...


1. When I was younger, I wanted to be a professional violinist. I started lessons at three years old, became pretty good, and was even the concertmistress of my undergrad symphony orchestra for two years. Like most things, life gets in the way, and I have not truly played in years. It's one of my bigger regrets in life.

2. Over the last year, I've grown to love makeup way more than I love fashion (which is a LOT). I feel limited by my hooded eyelids, so I try to play up my eyeshadow as best as I can.

3. I legitimately cannot fall asleep without Netflix or Hulu playing on my computer. It's SUCH a bad habit.

4. I'm a pop culture encyclopedia. I can tell you anything: info about celebrity gossip, what producers went to school with which directors, and . I'm not vapid! I just find the entertainment industry so interesting!

5. I've written three teen novels that I've never attempted to publish, and likely never will.

6. I'm a pretty good dancer, and I'm thinking about taking hip hop classes.

7. I am a pretty big Hilary Duff fan. She's my favorite celebrity from my hometown of Houston. (Yes, even more than Beyoncé. So you KNOW it's real.) #HilaryStan

8. I occasionally write rap songs, and I record the tracks in a makeshift recording booth in my walk-in closet using Garage Band. The songs are a hit with my friends and family!

9. I was a debutante. I was presented by Jack & Jill of America Inc. in 2010.

10. In 2013, I was betrayed by two people close to me within a short period. Afterward, I engaged in unhealthy physical and emotional behaviors until I decided to take control and turn my life around. The experience taught me a lot about myself and about what treatment I'm willing to take from others. I learned that you should never let someone else's behavior dictate how you think about yourself. I've come out of the other side feeling more in control of my own happiness, and I've gained a new respect for myself.

11. Law school is the hardest experience I've ever put myself through. I started in Fall 2014, and life has not been the same since. The greatest things about it are that I have made deep connections with people in such a short time and I have access to some of the best legal minds that the country has to offer. However, all the reading makes me glad I only have two years until I get my J.D. Nothing worth having is easy!

12. I cry VERY easily at movies, TV shows, and commercials. My family and friends make fun of me for it mercilessly. Craziest thing I've ever cried at? The Oreo Wonderfilled commercial. (It's just so nice that they all become friends!!!)

13. The best gift I've ever received is my Beats Pill. Music is life. #EvenIfBallIsLifer

14. In high school, I was the president of the Spirit Club. This meant that if I couldn't find someone to wear the school mascot outfit for a game, I had to don the suit.

15. I listen to ALL types of music. My favorite genre is alternative rock.

16. I strongly believe that I should have been a teenager in the 80s (all that great music, hello!), and that my mother and I would have been friends if I had been.

17. I'm one of the biggest Kardashian stans on the planet. I know...I can't help it...

18. I'm the WORD GAME/CHARADES QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE. I'm a beast: Heads Up, Charades, Taboo....I'm just TOO good.

19. I have cried at a Beyoncé concert before (I told you I cry easily!). She's just everything.

20. I have watched the entire series of The Office and 30 Rock at least three times each, and could probably quote each episode.
